T R I S H A T.
I began taking art classes soon after high school but quickly learned it wasn't my ideal for artistic progression. Mostly self-taught, I played around with different mediums, techniques, and styles but struggled with trusting my brushstrokes. I would revisit my work repeatedly until I felt no connection to my pieces. Almost by accident I discovered the use of a palette knife only approach and became mesmerized by the texture and rawness of knife work.
Most of my work consists of oil paint, cold wax and palette knife, wet-on-wet impasto technique.

It is one of the few things I do that I lose myself in. I feel like I become totally present and I emerge with a clear mind (and dirty fingers). I’m always anxious to see where the work will take me and what the completed piece will look like.
